Huang joined LSI Logic in the late 1980s during the semiconductor industry's expansion phase. His work on microprocessor design gave him the technical foundation and industry networks he would later leverage to identify opportunities in graphics computing.
Founding Vision
Huang recognized that graphics processing required fundamentally different chip architectures than general purpose CPUs. This insight, combined with his LSI Logic experience, motivated him to start Nvidia with co founders Chris Malachowsky and Curtis Priem.
