Cook joined Apple in 1998 as Senior Vice President of Operations. He restructured Apple's manufacturing and supply chain, earning recognition for his efficiency improvements during the company's product expansion under Steve Jobs. His operational expertise became central to Apple's ability to scale globally.
By 2005, Cook became Chief Operating Officer, managing day to day business operations while Jobs focused on product strategy. This role positioned him as Jobs' successor and demonstrated his command of the complex systems required to run a company producing hundreds of millions of devices annually.
