国内政治背景
India faced fresh protests over voter rolls and election administration in the weeks preceding Independence Day. Mass demonstrations demanding the poll chief's resignation shook the country for three consecutive days, reflecting underlying tensions within India's electoral system during Modi's current tenure.
International Incidents
The period also saw an unusual diplomatic moment when Modi engaged in a call regarding a Flydubai pilot's cockpit stabbing incident, demonstrating the Prime Minister's involvement in cross border aviation security matters. These concurrent pressures—domestic electoral unrest, international aviation incidents, and economic management—defined the geopolitical environment surrounding India's 2026 independence observance.
