Background in Law
Starmer built his reputation as a human rights lawyer before entering public service. His prosecution leadership modernized the CPS during challenging budgetary constraints and earned recognition from both legal professionals and government.
Path to Prime Minister
After leaving prosecution in 2013, Starmer entered Parliament in 2015 and led the Labour Party from 2020. He won the 2024 general election to become Prime Minister. Current political tracking indicates ongoing volatility in his support, with the "Burnham bounce" suggesting Labour faces pressure from multiple directions as his influence score remains modest at 13 out of 100.
