Do AI Races Affect Safety Rating in iRacing?
How iRacing Calculates Safety Ratings
Safety ratings measure driving conduct in multiplayer races through incident points. Collisions, wall contacts, and corner cutting generate penalties only when racing other members. AI races serve as practice and do not contribute to or detract from your safety standing.
Why This Matters for Drivers
Understanding this distinction helps drivers use AI races appropriately for skill development without safety rating concerns. Many drivers use AI competition specifically to improve lap times and racecraft before competing in official multiplayer events where their rating is at stake.
