How this is tracked
GeoGazet scans multiple outlets for retirement, resignation and succession reports and classifies them as an announced departure, a denial by the person, active succession talk, or no signal. A departure is only called announced when two or more independent sources report it. Each report is linked, and this page records when it was last checked.
