What Is Elon Musk Doing on the Moon
SpaceX's Lunar Role
SpaceX provides transportation services for NASA's Artemis program, delivering cargo and crew to lunar orbit. Musk has publicly discussed eventual Mars colonization as the primary long term goal, positioning the moon as a waypoint rather than a primary destination.
Commercial Space Expansion
Recent strategic moves suggest Musk is consolidating space sector influence. Current discussions center on a potential Tesla SpaceX merger and TSMC chipmaking collaboration. These developments indicate Musk is strengthening vertically integrated capabilities across manufacturing and transportation rather than pursuing independent lunar resource extraction at present.
